Vic Savelli is executive vice president – Digital Media for GAP Broadcasting Group. In this role, Vic directs digital and new media operations for both GAP and GAPWEST. In this newly created position, Vic will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s Internet operations across all of its broadcast markets.

Vic joined GAP Group with more than 25 years of media sales management experience in the newspaper, television and digital media industries. Prior to joining GAP Group, he was vice president of interactive sales for The Dallas Morning News where he was responsible for DallasNews.com, as well as the employment advertising sales division of both the print and online products. He also oversaw the launch and coordination of the Yahoo! Newspaper consortium partnership with DallasNews.com as a beta test market for Yahoo!. Prior to joining The Dallas Morning News, Vic was the regional director of sales for Texas and the Eastern U.S. for Belo Interactive. In this position, he helped structure and manage the first Internet sales models for both newspapers and television stations owned by Belo. While in this role, Vic launched many innovative products across Belo sites including Cars.com, Behaviorally Targeted Advertising Solutions and the registration based “MySpecialsDirect” permission based email marketing program. He started with Belo in 1991 at its Dallas ABC affiliate, WFAA Television, where he served as director of local sales. Vic also held various sales positions at The Dallas Times Herald before moving into television.

Vic is a past Victor Award recipient from the Sales and Marketing Executives of Dallas, and at DallasNews.com led that organization to win top digital national awards including Advertising Age’s Top 10 Websites by Ad Revenue, a Digital Edge award for Most Innovative New Classified Product, an ACME Award of Merit, an Editor and Publisher Eppy Award for Best Classified Site and a Homescape Innovator Award for the DallasNews.com real estate video player, HomeCenter TV.
