Sally Buckman is a Member of the Washington, D.C. law firm Lerman Senter PLLC. Sally has counseled clients in the media industry on a wide range of regulatory and business matters for over 25 years. She represents clients involved in all facets of the broadcast industry, including large publicly-traded broadcast companies, group owners, small radio and television licensees, a national radio network, program producers, investment companies, and on-air talent. Sally has represented numerous clients in the acquisition and sale of broadcast stations, and, in recent years, has helped several companies navigate the regulatory issues impacting financial restructuring and bankruptcy. Sally has also assisted radio and television groups and investment companies in structuring acquisitions and investments in compliance with FCC regulations. She has drafted and negotiated employment and talent contracts, syndication and programming agreements, as well as sports rights agreements with numerous major league and college sports teams for radio and television station owners and networks. In addition, she has been a panelist at many broadcast association conventions and conducted FCC compliance seminars for numerous broadcasters.
Sally has served two terms as a member of the Executive Committee of The Federal Communications Bar Association and has served as a Trustee of the Federal Communications Bar Association Foundation, and co-chair of the D.C. Women’s Bar Association Communications Law Forum. She is currently a co-chair of the FCBA’s transactional practice committee.
Sally is a graduate of Wellesley College and NYU School of Law.
