Rob Balon has had a long career in research and analysis, first exclusively with radio stations and groups, (with a specialty in spoken word formats) and then with a broader array of clients in IT, Healthcare, Hospitality and Advertising.

He holds a PhD in Marketing and Statistics from the U of Michigan.

He was the Research columnist for Radio and Records, has published four books including the best selling New Rules of Radio Ratings Game for the NAB, and his studies have been reported in The Wall Street Journal, New York Times and many others.

He has logged many hours at the mic as well filling in at talk stations like KLBJ, WRKO, WLS, and WBAP.
