Paul Jacobs is the Vice President/General Manager of Jacobs Media. For over thirty years Jacobs Media has provided programming, digital, and social media consulting to radio broadcasters. He began his career in Detroit radio as an Account Executive at WNIC and at WRIF, before becoming a General Manager for a radio station in Dallas, and then back in Detroit at WDFX, The Fox. He joined Jacobs Media in 1991.
In 2008, Paul and his brother Fred recognized the explosion of smartphones and mobile apps and started jacapps. Paul serves as the company’s President. Jacapps has emerged as one of the largest mobile application developers, with over 1,200 apps developed worldwide.
Paul is a sought-after speaker on sales and the transition broadcasters need to make in order to succeed in 2019 and beyond, as well as on technology and marketing, regularly appearing at conventions throughout the United States and Canada.
In addition to his work with Jacobs Media and jacapps, Paul recently ended work as the Chairman of the Board of Greater Public, and as the Board Chair of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation.
Paul is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in advertising, was a 2016 inductee into the Michigan Broadcasting Hall of Fame, and was the 2019 recipient of the Conclave’s Rockwell Lifetime Achievement Award.
